Day 14 of the Legacy Notebook Series
The last insurance item we’re going to cover is health insurance. Today is an easy day, which is well-deserved after all the talk yesterday of air ambulances, nursing home costs, and replacing your income during a lengthy illness.
Gather up any paperwork you have related to your health insurance policies. It may just mean making copies of your health insurance ID cards and jotting down the website used to access your account. Hint: Your username and password to access the account should already be in your password manager app. You’ve got that covered, right?
If you are like us and have more than one health insurance policy (my husband has one through work and my employer-provided plan covers me and the kids), make sure you include the information for each policy and indicate which family members are covered by each one.
If any family members have Medicare or Medicaid coverage, be sure to include these details as well.
The same goes for any special prescription plans you utilize. Make it easy for your family, should they ever need to reference the notebook.
Today’s Action Items:
- Add your health insurance policy docs to your notebook
- If you have special prescription plan coverage, add it to your notebook
